About the Event
Together we will walk along the Anza Trail and visit a spot on the river where beavers live. Your guide will share information about beavers, how to identify signs of beaver activity, and the many ways that beavers benefit our ecosystems. Please come prepared to walk approximately 1 mile on sandy, uneven terrain as well as potentially in shallow water.
A number of beaver dams have washed out due to the winter storms. While we cannot guarantee that we will be able to see a beaver dam on this tour, we will visit areas with an active beaver population and look out for signs of what they've been up to. You will come away from this tour with an understanding of why beavers build dams, how they contribute to the health of the river, and what to look for to identify beaver activity on your future visits to the river.
