The following benefits may vary and may be subject to a collective bargaining agreement:


Holidays
Ten holidays are observed per year, with an additional “Birthday Holiday” for any day in the employee’s birthday month.

Employees may not carry more than 280 hours accrued vacation time from one calendar year to the next unless approved by the General Manager.
 
Sick Leave
Employees are entitled to a total of twelve (12) days sick leave with pay per year; sick leave hours accrue each pay period.
 
Funeral Leave

In the event of death in the employee’s immediate family employees may be granted paid funeral leave to be paid out of the employee’s accrued sick leave.

 
Retirement

401(k) Plan:

Eligibility

-     Minimum age of 18
-     1,000 hours worked
-     6 months of service (date of eligibility is the first day of the month coincident with or following satisfaction of requirements)

Contribution
A contribution equal to 3% of employee’s compensation will be fully vested immediately. In addition to this 3%, a matching contribution up to 4% of employee’s “before-tax” compensation will be made; this contribution is subject to the regular vesting schedule as follows:

Social Security:
AMWC participates in Social Security. The employee and AMWC must each pay an amount equal to 6.2% of the employee's gross wages toward Social Security.

Medicare:
The employee and AMWC must may an equal amount to 1.45% of the employee's gross wages toward Medicare.

Health Insurance

AMWC pays 100% of the premium for employees and dependents, except as noted, for the following health coverage:

Health Insurance
Currently Blue Shield PPO
AMWC pays 100% for employee and dependents for Standard plan, or 100% for employee and 90% for dependents for Premier plan.
                 
Dental Insurance
Currently Delta Dental
Offers designated dentists with lower costs on most services, or the option to go to a non-designated dentist at a higher cost; there is a deductible for some services.

Life Insurance
Currently Principal Mutual
$25,000 benefit for employees; $500 to $5,000 benefit for spouse, depending upon age; and $2,000 benefit for each eligible child over 6 months of age.

Vision Insurance
Currently Vision Service Plan (VSP)
Employees and dependents can receive an eye examination every 12 months and are eligible for corrective lenses and frames every 24 months.  There is a $10 deductible for the examination and an additional $25 deductible for lenses and frames.

Note:  Employees may go to an optometrist who is not a VSP provider, however, the services and materials will be paid at a lesser rate by VSP.   In addition, the employee is responsible for paying the bill and submitting a claim to VSP for reimbursement.

 
P.O.P. (Premium Only Plan)

AMWC offers a Premium Only Plan (Section 125) that allows employees tax relief on the employee portion of the health insurance premium (for employees who select the Premier plan).

 
FSA - Flexible Spending Account

AMWC offers a Flexible Spending Account (Section 125), which allows employees to set aside part of their salary before social security, federal, and state taxes to pay for certain health and dependent care expenses.

HRA - Health Reimbursement Account

AMWC offers reimbursement of qualified medical and dental costs not covered by insurance, currently up to $1,250 per year.

 
Uniforms
Shirts, boots, and safety equipment are provided for field employees.
 
Wellness Program

AMWC offers employee reimbursement for participation in wellness programs and/or activities up to a specified amount each year, currently $240 per year.

 
Health Maintenance Program - Fitness Center

AMWC will pay for one full year’s fitness membership for the employee and dependent(s) in advance, allowing the employee to reimburse AMWC over a one-year period through payroll deductions.
